  1. American Cancer Society Relay for Life - Colleges Against Cancer (U of I)
    Colleges Against Cancer is a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty, and staff dedicated to eliminating cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society in college communities. The Colleges Against Cancer program is designed to allow students and staff to focus on many strategic areas to eliminate cancer. These areas include Relay For Life, Advocacy, Cancer Education, and Survivorship. This program raises awareness of cancer issues, and provides knowledge of prevention and early detection of cancer.

  9. Economic Human Rights Organization (U of I)
    To empower and educate people to join in an international dialog; to raise community awareness about poverty; to document human rights violations in the Iowa City area; to advocate with poor people for their economic human rights; to ally with interested persons and organizations; and to organize the entire community to join in the national movement to end poverty. We define poverty as anyone experiencing violation of their economic human rights, specifically to articles 23, 24, 25 and 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Included are the rights to affordable housing, livable wage, employment, a quality education, healthcare, childcare among others.
